Ah. Didn't pick up on that.
Good - it was a stupid rule.

In addition to a 10-second penalty, Vettel was also handed two penalty points on his license, bringing his total to six points in the last 12 months.
There's a line out of "Apocalypse Now" that is just screaming to be used/misused/abused or memed(?)

A bit, but Verstappen is a horrendous driver. Deserved his relegation more than Vettel.embee wrote:Anyone have sympathy for Vettel?

Hamilton wins over Rosberg in Brazil, leaving the title in contest at the last race in Abu Dhabi in two weeks' time. Rosberg will win if he stays ahead of Hamilton (or if they take each other out).
Verstappen drives his way to 3rd.

So ... it's the last race weekend of the year, and it's a championship decider.
I'm hoping Rosberg can hold Hamilton off.

Fox have a cracker of an ad on TV at the moment which starts with Keke getting out of the car having won the World Championship and the cutting to a 5 or 6 year old Nico saying "he wanted to race Formula 1 cars one day and win the world title like his dad" before morphing the young Nico's face into the current one.

Hamilton wins in Abu Dhabi but Rosberg finishes second & clinches the World Championship.
Just got to wait & see if they have a punch-up after the race.

They would have if Lewis' little stunt had worked.
As it is, Lauda didn't seemed particularly impressed.

Must say the petrol heads I've known, hang out for the stacks. Car racing's claims to be a sport are problematic in my view.

Chariot racing is a different case....other than Boadicea, who in our view, was a cheat.

World champion Nico Rosberg has announced he has retired from Formula 1 with immediate effect.
The 31-year-old German won his first world title on Sunday, beating Britain's Lewis Hamilton.

Fark a duck.
Good on him. He's climbed his Everest and is set for for life.
Of course, it now opens up a VERY attractive seat for someone, even if you have to be team mates with Lewis.

Never saw that coming.
Verstappen would seem the ideal replacement as he will push Hamilton to the limit ... but can Max be extracted from his Red Bull contract?

Motor racing, mountaineering and bullfighting are the only three sports, the rest are merely games.

Probably watched the highlights of his Dad's year and got embarrassed that they still call themselves "drivers".

And the sooner military pilots are replaced with drones or 10 year old kids with play stations the better.
Sorry. Met a few. The boys who flew spitfires in WW2 would be spewing they're allowed in the same club.

Re: Formula One Season 2016
You met a few Bradman, and you're right. As a 22 year RAF engineer I worked with (de-briefed ) many of them. I was lucky enough to get a few goes in the simulator. Having done so, I didn't miss an opportunity to explain to the more cocky types that any fool could break a jet - the real skill was in the fixing of their toys.
