Robbo upgraded his flog status with an insensitive tweet about Fasolo , drugs and mental illness
Wouldn't have happened if players stopped hiding their drug problems by playing the mental illness card

Slobbo is a jerk.
Mental illness can be exacerbated by alcohol and/or drug abuse.

or riffing Velvet Underground? If yes, avoid acting out Venus in Furs - that's Taips' preferred role.

Re: AFL 2017
Well it could have been an aprox of my coverage but I was trying to imp genuine shock.
Reporter to Hawthorn player: "What can you tell us about the game."
HP: "Well it was a game of two..."
Rep:"No not this game, THE game. You've obviously never seen it before."

Re: AFL 2017
Pre-game, the bookies (and punters nation-wide) were predominantly tipping Adelaide.
Geelong's form in losing to Collingwood, the Suns, and Essendon would still have been affecting the opinions of punters.
The home ground advantage is big in Geelong, and the football experts would have taken this into account more than the average punter.
I tip Geelong every week - regardless of form or any of the above ...

Re: AFL 2017
I did not say that I tip Geelong in all cases expecting them to win in all cases! I've been doing this since the 90's ...
Supporting my own team is more important to me than winning the tipping comp ...

whereas I have decades of experience which inures me to ignominy...my tipping rarely verges to optimism...the past 20 years have provided delightful surprises...DGAF about tipping comps, tho one year i fluked 3rd in a circa 700 people comp

... logically, then, why do you ever tip against your side?

Re: AFL 2017
habit of aversion to over confidence...I often see how we can lose, not how we can win...Bizarre, I am convinced that I am a jinx...have only just started going to games again...easier this year because no-one expects us to play well

Re: AFL 2017
Did you not understand my earlier post ... IMO you should always tip your side regardless of whether you believe they can or will win. This is not over-confidence!
