Re: AFL 2017
DK Armfield also retires....leaving Adelaide's own punk Freddie Mercury, Taylor Walker, as the AFL player least likely to ever cop the classic sledge 'you're not there just for your good looks y'know!!!'

Shock on AFL website
"Talented Magpie to finish up after 11 seasons"
"Veteran forward to finish up after roller coaster career at two clubs"
Turns out it is Jesse White they are talking about ...never knew he was talented ...he hid it well
...and surely more of a long flat slide than a roller coaster

A sandpit.... But not even quick sand. Massive lols when the Pondies bought and paid him overs....he did however cause a rule change... Wonder how many here remember the circumstances?

Re: AFL 2017
Oh yes....he was a bit keen to join the action in his first game for Syd, didn't wait for the other bloke to come off first and so for about 40 seconds he was the extra man on the ground that no-one noticed. Which seeing as he was built like one of Billy Brainless's garage doors seemed a bit odd....but that pattern of being a giant Invisible Man repeated throughout his career.
(Always thought the old rule about losing your entire score for that kind of breach was absolutely laughable, and the VFL dodged a H-bomb that in 110 years it never needed to be applied.)

Giants are pretty good. Toby Green's face is almost as punchable as those of Twatto, gcs and Piggsy Stokes.

you can't argue with their success, but they sure take a lot of unnecessary risks with their game style.

I feel your pain...sort of...at least I didn't have the Tiges in a multi.
Hardwick was keen to blame the crowd factor at the litter box and their influence on umps. Rather than make excuses the coach could worse than read Titus O's take on the round.

Re: AFL 2017
And sadly, the Tigers get the runs whenever it counts. I blame Bartlett as the curse of the Tiggers. His cheatin' ways over many years led to a rule change. He has 'venged on the game ever since. He has cruelled both the game and the Tiggers.
I think Bartlett may be the biggest Jonas in AFL.
only rivals are eddyhead and figjam at the Pondies, Tird at the ODs - Organised Druggies, Cuzz at the RDs-random druggies and Pratt and Elliot at the Filth.

The strange thing about the win yesterday (and I've only seen the highlights) is that it was achieved without Selwood, Hawkins, Blicavs, Duncan, et al; and that even Dangerfield was (by his standards) somewhat restrained. I think it was won in the ruck (Smith) and back half with really strong rebound from Kolo, Thurlow, Tuohy, Henderson, Mackie, Lonergan, and Bews; it's certainly the best game we've had from Kolo (who I fear we may not have next year). Much maligned players like C Guthrie, Murdoch, Motlop and Parsons contributed, too.
I'd have Hawkins back for Stanley in a flash; and Duncan back in for Motlop/Simpson/Parfitt will help too.
With a bit of luck Selwood might still make it back for finals. We really can't handle any more injuries, though.

Re: AFL 2017
Watched most of it. Smith was v good as was the defensive unit. Thought Harry and Motlop were terrific. That said the Tiggers - Dusty aside - were ordinary.
Cotch was v ordinary - a Brownlow medallist with the skills and presence of Woey and Priddis?
