It has to be said that the team has probably had one of the easiest draws so far, but you can only beat those on the park.
The big mobile pack is going very well, and the halves have the backs making constant good ground.
Geez we've beaten the Premiers and the early Premiership favourites.

Cooper Cronk announces that he's quitting the Storm at the end of the season to move to Sydney with his missus.
Of course, the Dragons are out of the running for his services having already blown the bank on Ben Figging Hunt.

Aye, stoopid stuff. Cronk would've been a grouse pick up, and given his age, may have come cheaper than Qunt.

Hezzie Dasler (on the nooz) reckons Cronk will retire rather than play footy in Sydney. He is 33, so Des may be right.

Could just be Dessie scaring off other suitors to only the Bulldogs talk to him.

Indeed it could.
I wonder how much clubs will be willing to bid for a 33 year old gun organiser? A mill for a season?

Re: Rugby League 2017
Cronk may retire
"COOPER Cronk has dropped his second bombshell in less than eight hours — 2017 may be his last year playing in the NRL.
Cronk fronted media alongside an emotional coach Craig Bellamy on Tuesday morning to announce he would leave Melbourne at the end of the current season, despite an option to stay for 2018.
He will move to Sydney to live with fiancee Tara Rushton.
But Cronk told NRL 360 during a live cross on Tuesday night he may not even play next year.
“I’ve got no interest in taking offers or looking at offers or even considering offers from Sydney any time soon, and I’m talking over a couple-month period, because I actually don’t know if I want to play on next year,” Cronk said."
---------------------------------------
But apparently* the Dogs ARE first in line for Cronk, if he does play on.
"The Bulldogs spluttering attack has heaped pressure on current halves Josh Reynolds and Moses Mbye this year and Johns laughed at Bulldogs coach Des Hasler’s faux surprise and response that Cronk would definitely retire next year, when asked if the club would be making a play for the Test No7.
“He’s just the best Dessie, but all roads lead to them (Bulldogs) offering a monster deal,’’ said Johns, who first tutored Cronk back in 2006.
Johns said if the Bulldogs were to secure Cronk, they wouldn’t be just signing any player, they would be signing an on and off-field leader and the equivalent to a new member of the coaching staff."

Re: Rugby League 2017
Sharkies play almost the perfect half (only for a couple of late mistakes and a careless forward pass) but find themselves behind 2-0 to the bumbling Storm at HT in a wet Melbourne.
I reckon Maloney had a dead set fair try disallowed from a drop ball after a scrum close to the Storm line. The ref ruled Cronulla had broken early from the scrum, but the replay suggested otherwise.
Then, after another Storm fumble, Jack Bird later threw a lazy forward pass with the winger only needing to stroll over. Squall very lucky.
Having said all that, the Storm will probably grind to an 8-0 victory from here.

Re: Rugby League 2017
Great win by a very deserving Sharks outfit in Melbourne, 11-2.
It's the 1st time the Storm have ever been kept tryless at AAMI Park.
Huzzah, Drags are top of the ladder!!!! I'll post proof later.

Re: Rugby League 2017
As one of the Roar contributors wrote today - every team seems to be playing their worst game of the year against the Dragons.
We get to play a possibly JT-less Moos this weekend as well.

Re: Rugby League 2017
Sounds like slackness did creep in in the 2nd half v Cows. Drags were leading comfortably at HT but allowed a Cows fight back with a flat 2nd half, apparently*.
Still, top of the comp after 7 weeks. I'll take it!!

For the statos, Cam Smith needs another 7 goals to be the highest goal scorer in NSWRL/NRL history.
