Poland are rubbish though.

From the little i've seen so far - McLaren wants shooting for not getting our mob to these finals.

Couldn't have been any worse...

I'm wondering if I should subscribe to Setanta for a month to watch the tournament here in Aus. It would be an easier decision if England were playing....

Really surprised that FOX don't have the rights here. Even after the growth in the domestic game in the past few years, it still doesn't translate to TV ratings.

On average one game every 2-3 days. And looking at the schedule, it's usually the crapper of the 2 games on the day.

Meh, Setanta is only $6.95 a month. Worth it to be able to watch some late night 'can't sleep' football.

What piffle. It's like not watching Lara bat against McGrath and Warne because England aren't involved. If you love the game, you'll watch the matches.

I agree with Lara. Although considering tournament play has become a giant bunch of cynical and circumspect wank, I'm not sure the teams love the game. So f*ck them.

The Portugese and the Germans played with an attacking mindset and a lot of style. France and Holland will too. Italy play very easy on they eye, attractive football. Shame they shut up shop when they go 2 up but they've always been like that and probably always will. Spain, Russia, Croatia and Sweden are usually really good to watch too. There's loads on offer for the neutral.

I don't buy all this "international football is boring". Euro competitions are consistently excellent. Greece boring heir way to the win last time was an anomaly. Euro '96, Euro 2000, Euro '88. They were all brilliant.

Did you see the Ghost, Danny? Looked bloody good. I reckon he'd give Joe a few problems. It's here if you haven't seen it: Link.

Yeah, I saw him. In fairness, he should've looked good. Never rated Lockett, he's only fought two half-decent fighters... Rhodes and Blundell. Rhodes had rehauled his technique and Blundell has no chin. Pavlik is a big middleweight and high calibre. He worked him over beautifully but I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of his punches. He's performed a lot better than that. Not sure how he'll fare against Calzaghe - he's quick footed but some of his handwork leaves a some to be desired. If he leaves his chin open like that against a naturally heavier puncher and a decent puncher at that, it could be all over sooner than later.

Having said all this, I recognise him as more of a dangerous opponent than either of his last two - Kessler was too slow, Hopkins too defensive. I think he's a natural super-middle and shouldn't be bothering with Joe IMO. He should be looking for fights under light-heavy.

Joe's punches are more concussive against naturally lighter opponents.

He'll still be moving up - Joe's a light-heavy, Kelly's a middle. Super-middle in between. A weight Joe reckoned he wouldn't make again.

I like the irony that Steve McClaren has been 'expert summariser' at some games for the BBC...

expert at what? How not to get your team there?
