The board 11 should forget about the upcoming test series should just have ONE goal in their mindThe One wrote:they might enforce the follow-on imo. not much bowling done today, or even yesterday. aussies will be under much more pressure with a follow-on than with a 400 plus target in a match that they dont really need to win, but would hate to lose
whats the follow-on rules in this match anyways? its a 4-day match so it might be 150 runs
Win the match and win it BIG!

Aust wouldn't mind the follow on I think. It will give their rusty batsmen a chance to get some more practice in before the first test.

Clark showing the top order on how to bat against spin! Couple of beautiful strikes for six.

Hmm .. I'm also leaning towards enforcing follow-on now.
Aus still can avoid follow-on though. They are around 50 away.

The Indian bowlers have already bowled 100 overs. They'd be crazy to enforce the follow on other than to satisfy Yuvraj's ego.

Aus need 41 more runs to avoid follow on.

Most of the overs were bowled by 20 year old spinners...JGK wrote:The Indian bowlers have already bowled 100 overs. They'd be crazy to enforce the follow on other than to satisfy Yuvraj's ego.

i think the follow-on is not possible now. too long of a stint already today and the spinners are getting a bit of stick

Aust all out for 314 - 96 run 10th wicket partnership.
Clark's great day continues - currently has 1/10 off 5.

In other news, Cam White FFS has been chosen to replace McGain.

IIRC last team to win in IND with out a spinner was the famous W Indian team of the 80s.
south africa and australia won primarily due to pace. boje and warne cleaned up a few times
That should tell you that Ponting's poor form in India is not a guarantee. Warne had an aweful record in India before that.

Would we be less screwed if it was Beau Casson answering the call?

Badrinath can never succeed against quality seamers because of the odd grip that he has. He just fails to get on top of bounce even if there is little bit of extra bounce.

Impressive bowling by Chawla and Ojha. Pathan and Goni weren't bad either.
.
And in the other match vs NZ A Amit Mishra took 6 wickets in the first innings.
India's spin stock coming along nicely?

At least he can turn the ball and has potential not stuck in the groove like the straight leg spinner.

Interesting, Cricinfo commentary suggests Jaffer should have been given run out off the last ball of Day 3 but the third ump said not out.

AUS getting hammered again! Its more to do with good batting than poor bowling.

The problem for Aus is that apart from Lee and Clark, they have a genuinely inexperienced bowling attack.
