Let's take a look at the Ashes' crowds. And the only way IPL is going to bang anyone's girlfriend is if she's into a 30 second grunt and roll from a thirteen year old with abnormally under developed equipment.

In fact the similarities are amazing, IPL just like the over-testosteroned kid has to fark off to a nieghbours house to do the business.

IPL is great for topping up the ageing cricket stars pension funds and for keeping limited mind-span audiences agape for 3 hours at a time.

IPL this year has been another resounding success and fact of the matter is that it is a great way and the best format to promote the game to hitherto new locations as also challenges the 'old-cricket' status-quo.

Firstly, I doubt whether the Indian public would willingly fork out face value £ 70 (abt 5,500 ruppees) for a ticket,
Secondly, the stadia in the UK tend to be on the small side, though for Ashes matches can and have been sold twice over ...
Thirdly, the WIndies series was played in cold and damp May ... against a team whose minds were elsewhere.
