Too right, OP. An excellent Kling-on performance. We needed 10, they stopped us at 8. Well done them.

It's all the more remarkable considering they were 40-4 at one stage yesterday afternoon.

Shhhh, you'll get Red started with her skewed opinions about how South Africa will be carrying a half-fit Kallis and Philander, a tired du Plessis, Smith coming off a duck (out of form...likely finished), a complacent Amla, a worked-out Alviro, an out of form Rudolph, a shackled by keeping de Villiers, a below-par Steyn, a battered Tahir, an under-cooked Robbie Peterson, and an over-cooked Morkel, a stressed- out Alan Donald, a listless and over-relaxed Gary Kirsten, and a sleep deprived physio. I even heard a rumour their hotel beds in Perth wont be the most comfortable of all time, and that the hotel is located 100 metres from a 24 hour construction site.
South Africa may as well not show up at Perth, and just continue flying across the Indian Ocean back home.

I was going to say Well done South Africa.
But it's actually more a case of congratulations to Kallis and Faf, both monumental in both innings, and to a slightly lesser extent to AB for his invaluable if interminable stonewalling, and a bit to a doughty tail of three bowlers who together at least held out for a total of 73 balls for few (meaningless) runs.
(And Smith for his first innings and probably also leadership, to whatever extent.)
If South Africa can replace Rudolph and Tahir with any sort of improvements, they must be about equal in the odds for the series.

What a bitter comment!

If you had 11 Siddles, you'd be there or thereabouts.
Might be handy if some of them showed that application and skill in the batting area, it should be added.

The Chris Robshaw Trophy for booboos of a monumental and unforgettable nature. At least, unlike Robshaw, he didn't actually influence the outcome of the game.tricycle wrote:Give that man an award.

The curator deserves kudos for producing a deck that delivered such an enthralling test match

Great Test match - only got to see the last hour and a bit on the TV, but what an hour or so it was. More exciting than any T20 shit.

Yarps could still get away with a draw this Test and win the series in Perth, but they have been pretty shit so far.
They really do nothing to dispel the notion that they are a bunch of aussie-wannabes who shit their knickers whenever they meet the real thing.
