Just seen the report on Taylor. 130 pounds earned in the world cup? No wonder he took the Kolpak.

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
I'm a bit surprised that kids under 19 are already looking at the money tbh. It's not like they've reached their ceiling on ability or earnings from cricket.
I would tend to question their commitment as opposed to Taylor and Jarvis who pretty much play for charity. How many have gone on to become good players?

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Well true.
Under 19's not the same in australia some countries are reliant on their under 19's,eg irfan pathan went from under 19's to straight in2 the test side.
Some under 19's get rookie contracts 40/50 but thats not as much as they will get on a county wage.
The under 19's here have to go through grade,2nd xl cricket to even get in2 state cricket. Some of these under 19 players may not even get fully in2 the state side until they are 23/24.Look at alex keith give a state contract at 18 and he is yet to get a spot in the vics side 3/4 years later.
Yes zimbabwe and south africa is a mess.Zimbabwe started with quota system, but there is maybe 7/8 whites left in the zimbabwe comp no quota for them, and look at how bad they are now.
South africa is too much to get into but 4 whites per state sides says enough.

Even the black players have left Zimbo domestic cricket en masse in the past couple of years. They're well and truly screwed. A wonder they can compete in tests against anyone despite what's happening.

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Zimbabwe are gone,Ireland now is a better team its a fact.
South africa is 6 player quota, wanted 7 for next year,4 quotas for the first team confirmed by them today. They have lost 5 players in domestic cricket from last year 1 retired,3 england ,1 NZ,their comp is going 2 the dogs.Have you looked at their domestic averages from last season, their are players playing for 10 games for a 15/20 average, and bowlers playing a full year with an average of 4o/50/60.

They can't have all the batsmen averaging 15-20 and the bowlers averaging 40-60, unless there are a ridiculous proportion of run-outs!

Hales 222*, not bad for a day's work. James Taylor has an irritating ability to get in and then get-out between 30 and 60. He's so niggly he niggles himself to death. Still, 393/7 is decent graft for a 1st day when you've been put in.

James Taylor has an ability to promise a little but deliver less.
I still don't see a player of any substance. But I'm sure he's a nice guy and all.

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
No substance about an FC average of 47 and List A of 51, playing a lot of it at bowler-friendly Trent Bridge? You'll have to look a long way for a player of substance in the English county game then.
Hard to see a vacancy arising for a player of his type in the Test middle order in the near future, I have to admit though. He's going to be one of those that we will look back at his county stats and wonder why he didn't get more opportunities, I suspect.
Hales has sent out a message to the England setup with that knock. He seems another one they don't quite trust enough beyond the T20 arena. Either your face fits or it doesn't, even though these two would appear to have links to the "Cheesy and the Twat Pack" clique that should count in their favour...

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone, a young player on the Lancashire staff, scored a world record 350 in a one-day club game.
I would say "one to watch", but he's nearly 22 and yet to make a county first XI appearance.Â

Hales is the best limited-overs batsman in England, the reason he doesn't get picked in ODIs is because England are stupid. The answer to all their questions is Ian Bell.

Twice in a minute's not bad tho but.
Unless you mean total squirts. (No, I don't mean any cricketers in particular.)

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Doesn't look like we're going to take 20 wickets this year. Which is hardly surprising when our attack consists of 78mph dobbers and a part-time spinner. Oh well, we might have enough batting to win a limited-overs trophy as long as we don't play Hampshire in any match ending in "final".

The fightback continues: a first innings lead of 44 courtesy of a ton from Oliver and runs from Kervezee and Andrew. Please, no more day 3 nightmares!

Yorkshire's Jack Leaning makes his maiden FC century. You'd have thought Leaning would struggle to stay upright without Ballance...
