So after calling for a general election for over a year, it now looks as if Labour will vote against it.

Turkeys do not, generally speaking, vote for Christmas.

The UK is the laughing stock of the world. We asked the people in 2016 if they wanted to leave the EU. The powers that be then told us that the world would effectively end if we voted out. Everyone from the Bank of England to almost every significant party leader, pop and film icons said it would be a disaster and 5 of the main 7 UK newpapers backed Remain. Even 'Barrack oh bummer' got involved and said we must vote to stay. Guess what, we voted OUT. OUT! As in goodbye EU forever.
Cameron had melt down and ran away. The MPs in the main had kittens. How very dare we make the right choice to leave that waste of space and billions, the EU?
Since then it's been all about betraying us with delay and attempts to deny us our wishes.
The SNP and Labour have a lot to answer for along with the weaker Tories who are sabotaging our wishes. The SNP are pathetic. I bet if there was an ENP the leftards and snowflakes would be using the race card more often than they breathe out.

... and it has, predictably, been a disaster, supported now by only the most intransigent morons on the planet, mostly named Boris Johnson.

It hasn't had a chance to be a disaster yet.  Predictably it's been played up as a disaster despite not being implemented yet.  Ask the Swiss how soft border's work FFS!

Switzerland has a border with almost everyone and trades daily with them despite not being a member of the EU.  The head of customs of Belgium and the Netherlands both think this is a crock and even if you leave out chocolates and watches let alone banking and tourism, both technically export industries the Swiss have a rather large pharmaceutical industry as well as ag chemicals (we use them, they're good) as well as one of the world's best standards of living (consumerism anyone).

But the sky is falling.

According to IMF stats, the UK has the 6th largest economy in the world. Switzerland is 19th. The difficulties facing the UK under No Deal are of an entirely different order of magnitude.

Furthermore, to the best of my knowledge, the Swiss have never had to do what the UK is faced with, namely tearing down existing ing arrangements and effectively starting from scratch.

Aye, but most were kept going on rations.

Isn't "chippies" a great word? In Oz the word has multiple meanings beyond tucker. Waiting for ??? to come forward and run the traditional defence of Queensland.

A bit of a knob taips? The man's a six foot throbber.

If the remain side really want to persuade people that Boris & C are wrong, these two really aren't the ones to do it.

Consider myself a northern Australian but seeing I have a rep to maintain; forget Greenland if Trump is looking for a bargain he can have everything south of the Tweed gratis.  Better yet we'll offer it to NZ.  Either way we'll be rid of the drain on our country that is the embarrassment personified by spivs and other Mexicans.
