Re: English Domestic Season 2022
Michael Hogan has retired. A splendid career - late starter, late finisher.
Of Australian-born players, only Siddle has taken more FC wickets since 2000, apparently. You wonder how he was never in Test or ODI contention when Mennie, Worrall, Tremain, Neser, Paris, Behrendorff, Coulter-Nile, Abbott and Boland (and perhaps others) all had at least one chance.

Pretty sure Brook drops below that mark when you add in his solitary Test appearance, whereas Pujara also played one Test in England this summer and I think scored enough to stay above the Bradman line. Don’t think there’s anything under the FC banner other than CC and Tests now, with the University Centres of Cricketing Crapness possibly now sidelined?JGK wrote:Looks like 2 players averaged over 100 in the CC. Not sure about the overall first class season.
Thanks.
It's hard to find First Class season stats anywhere other than Cricket Archive which I refuse to pay for.

Will be in Playfair ‘23 next April… the old sources are the best (have a 36-years-and-counting collection of the pocket-size annual, despite the fact pretty much all the stats are online and real time updated now anyway!)JGK wrote:beamer wrote:Yeah, 107 for Brook (div 1) and 104 for Pujara (div 2). There may have been the odd other game against touring sides including development ones. Not sure if it impacts those two players. There was a great Times article yesterday on curious facts about this FC season as well.

Think he wanted FC stats including “incidental” matches (universities, touring sides etc.) if any.Lost Wombat wrote:The averages for the whole CC are on the cricketer website

Re: English Domestic Season 2022
i dont think uni games have FC status anymore and
the touring matches often are 11+ side affairs so
come under 'other', not FC either: i think there was
1 where the indians played on both sides. Was there
an MCC match vs champion county? Maybe in Dubai..

Re: English Domestic Season 2022
I think that one was scrapped this year, so maybe there was little or no FC outside of CC and Tests.

yes your right there were 7 tests as well, so the test players avs will be different.
Pope got over the 1000 run mark I think.

I forgot that there were 3 matches between the counties and the Sri Lankans. I think they
were FC too.
I just saw the test averages this summers matches.
Root averaged 11.54 in the SA series. That must be his worst ever!
