just as a point of interest, when was the last time that the 100m world record was less than half of the 200m world record?

that tells me that usain can definitely lower the 200m a lot more if he concentrates on just one run

If that's going backwards, I think next time he should add the 400m, long jump, both hurdle events and the decathlon to his schedule...

Agree, but it was also clear that he didn't smash the record so badly that he couldn't beat it again.

Why doesn't he run the 400 as well? If he's that far ahead at the halfway mark and slowing down.

He's only 23 as well. When do sprinters peak? 29? It's scary that he has the potential to get even faster.

pure physical peaks are closer to 22 than 28

By f*ck that bloke is amazing. 5 of them ran under 20s and he looked so far ahead of them it was like a decathlon heat with one bloke who previously specialised in 200m.

I think his PB is about 1 second of WR time but still very competative. He's talked about being tired and not wanting to double up so unless he goes solely for the 400 it's unlikely he'd do it at all

His PB is 45.15, which is no great shakes by any stretch of the imagination. Unless it's to say, oh and his PB in the 400 is 45.15 - not bad.

I'm still on the fence about him being a freak or juicing up on something, but I'd like to see someone do the 1,2,4 triple in my lifetime.

They wouldn't even need to do it at a single meet (which I think is now basically impossible) for that to be an astonishing achievement because 400m running is quite different to 100m running. Bolt is about 2s off the 400m WR so I don't think he could realistically do that.

But then again, I never thought I'd see a 9.59 or 19.19 either.

I think you have to be a technically better runner than Bolt is, he's just unleashed speed and power...

Exactly.

Bolt ran that time when he was still a teen and I don't think that he has ever trained for the 400m

Jamaica's second string scraped into the relay final, landing Bolt and co with a crap lane. Does that rule out the world record? I thought they would have at least put Powell out there for the heat to make sure they got a decent time.
