"What occurred may well be humorous to many people but I think the test is whether it's hurtful to people and what occurred is quite hurtful to a number of people,'' he said.

Could not be more spot on

When the bloke coming down the outside tripped and sent the wee fella on his back face first into the turf I pissed myself {What occurred may well be humorous to many people} and I am sure the short person had a nasty grass burn on his face {what occurred is quite hurtful to a number of people}

Mr Ed ... is an 11 y o chestnut gelding - a Chaser standing over 16 hands, and is still plying his trade over fences on the smaller circuits around the South, especially Fontwell.

He should be making his seasonal appearance soon providing he hasn't been retired recently!

Couldn't believe the odds on Kirkless a week ago and was looking forward to a nice little pay day. Now this.

I know but was waiting for the barrier draw. Anyone who plonks money on a CC before the barrier draw is trusting to more than just luck.

It's called punting ???.

If you took the punt early you would now be laughing

Of course it all means bunk if it gets beat.

Yes it's called punting. A form of gambling where you try to take into consideration a number of factors. If you want to bet on the CC before the barrier draw you may as well blow it on keno.

Still $9.00 isn't to be sniffed at.

One of those factors is what the BD may do to the odds - and you waited and lost. You may as well have plonked on Keno anyway

Heard this morning that William Hill has laid odds on the cost of a lay by Sea of the Stars. 6-4 fav is Euro 90-110,000 per cover.

He'll cover 200 mares in the Northern season. FFS - what a way to retire - eat sleep and r00t - should rename him wombat!

No because if it had drawn barrier 18 I would've been farked. Five days out I can make an informed decision (no matter how wrong that decision might be). Betting on it before the barrier draw is like betting on keno because you're hoping the numbers fall your your way.

So you were waiting for him to draw a good barrier (and, hence, have the odds reduced) before backing him and then complain when he draws a good barrier and the odds reduce?
