Middlesex having a wobble. Five down, 30 more needed.
Northants still in with the slimmest of slim chances...

Ooh, Trego gawn.... 9 down, 200 lead. Going to be interesting.

Exciting stuff. This'll be a hard chase for Lancs. Lloyds seems to be on Warks' side too!
Re: County Cricket 2011 Season (III)
Basically about 8rpo for 26 overs minimum for us to win the match - so basically a slightly extended T20 innings needed ........

The real barrier may turn out to be whether zummerzet bowl enough overs during the next hour ...... methinks we're in for some time-wasting on an industrial scale personally.

Well, PeterCS and Growler have actually softened my complete hatred of those absolute arrogant sh!ts. And whilst the hatred still burnishes, it burnishes silently out of respect for those genial forummers.
But, being Northamptonian, I f*cking hate Warks probably even more anyway - bar Worcs, we are their local rivals and Dermot Reeve acted like a massive qunt throughout the 90's. Capel nearly slotted him in one match. Then there's that ultra-qunt Ashley Giles, I f*cking loathe that piece of sh!t.
So the lesser of two evils is Lancs and I'm plumping for them.
That was a leading question by Lever. Of course, simians don't always stick up for their own, but still.
I am not going to mention Peter Moores, to redress the balance.
(Oh, bugger!)

I think I'm a different sub-species of monkey. I think you both should be honoured how little I mention negative things about them, it is only out of respect for you both. I've had innumerable bad experiences with your fans from the age of about 7, some of your players of the past and near present have strutted around like they owned the shop - pretty much a northern Surrey. The stigma has never and will never leave.

Aye.
But fair play, looks like they've got this one in the bag.

Two quick wickets gone - bugger! - but Growler, I think there is a minimum of 16 overs starting from 4.30, so (apart from unsettling the batsmen), Kartik and co should not be able to waste operative time.
Besides, with two Northants umps, we should be assured of fair play!

Lancs need 74 off 16 (I think). Would look a relatively straightforward task if there were not the almighty pressure at this point.

Big tributes to the Hampshire batting I was maligning with such bad grace yesterday.
Tons for Carberry and McKenzie.
It seems to be Lancashire's to lose. ..... being a Lank, I am suspicious ..... it's a trap.

Agreed - can't see the hampers declaring to give bears a chase ...... and if they did, can they score 140+ in about 14 overs ?

Nonsense! Our caps and noses are not brown, all we have that is Brown is Charlie.
But we do all have big broad Fred Flintoff/Peter Kaye/Bette Lynch/Jason Manford/George Formby accents - off-putting enough, I suppose.

TBH Pete, I thought Hants would fold. It was a feeble effort 1st dig. All going well, I'm glad. It's incredibly arrogant to think you can slow your way to 500 and simply take 20 wickets. Had they got on with it, they could always have had a chase at the end.
And yes, not because they're Northants - George Sharp and Peter Willey (along with Rob Bailey) are top umpires IMO.

I quite agree about Sharp and Willey. Was engaging in levity about the Northants bit.
Both are ultimate "no nonsense" - the third essential quality of any good ump.
(After good eyesight and fair judgement, I mean!)
