Re: Ashes 2013 - a question
Blimey - ol' Dazza Lehman has said that Watson's opening for the Ashes and that he's also going to bowl. Looks like 'Davey' will be a middle order choice.
Re: Ashes 2013 - a question
If Watson is bowling I guess Warner will be opening in test 2.

Watson has some damn funny career Test stats. Passed 50 on 21 occasions, then dismissed between 51 and 57 on 9 of those occasions.
He's gotten to 88 eight times in his career, and made scores of:
96, 89, 93, 120*, 97, 126, 95, 88
In the 120*, against some declaration bowling from Pakistan this happened on 99....
62.3 Mohammad Amir to Watson, 1 run, dropped on 99, fuller delivery and Watson drives in the air to backward point and the fielder, Rauf drops it and Watson has his century, well played, raises his bat to the crowd. Everybody rises to clap. Maiden century for Watson.
In the 126 againstIndia he was dropped twice, before 50. He got to 62 from 113 balls, then took another 145 balls to get 38 more runs to 100 and then 79 balls for his last 26 runs - constant deceleration. He got stuck on 64 for 17 balls (including running Ponting out), on 65 for 15 balls, on 80 for 11 balls, on 92 for 12 balls, on 100 for 14 balls, on 101 for 16 balls.
He seems to defy the laws of cricket - the longer he bats the more out of nick he becomes....
Re: Ashes 2013 - a question

Chuck Uzzy in. And Cot has been rubbish in England (actually pretty much since he became a vegan), so go with Rhino.

Bird, Patto, Rhino, Elmer for the attack and hopefully Twatto can get through 15 overs a match too.

Re: Ashes 2013 - a question
I am too long out of it to recommend a particular beer, but the local brewery/microbrewery/craft brewer is the way to go.
Here is CAMRA's extensive list of Manchester and Manchester-area PROPER brewers:
http://www.camragreatermanchester.org.uk/brew.html
Lees are longer-established, Boggart and Hornbeam are newer and look interesting.
Personally, I like Thwaites, from my original neck of the woods slightly further north.
But then, beer is such a question of .... errrrm, taste anyhow.
Safest to try the lot. Each in sufficient quantities to be certain.

I wonder if Lardy would be in for that?

Only those few of the minority of those raging swivel-eyed Commies who haven't got their eyes fully focussed on papers on t'internet, kindles and various other e-slates.
The Sun, The Mirror, Telegraph, The Times, The Star, The Manchester Evening News would all sell better, among those who still buy, I'd think. Large parts of South Lancashire (officially Greater Manchester) hesitate only between overt Tory and Murdoch. The Mirror is a vestige of a pinker rose.

Does it matter. You'll be in the North and be free of that crap they brew in the South.

Disappointing. I was hoping you could do some market testing before I arrived.
