So, if I say I'm from Comoros I'm Comorian?

You seem to forget that I said former, former was the operative word and people who were born in a country and raised there in some cases, they're entitled to be called erstwhile whatever.Brass Monkey wrote:So, if I say I'm from Comoros I'm Comorian?
Don't know where Taipan gets the Zim connection from. I went there once briefly to check out the Victoria Falls and that's the only time I visited that benighted country.

So, I'm sure Strauss at 3 would've said 'I'm a South African'. So that means he's a former South African?

Red - you make some pretty irritating statements at times.
Like the one I previously replied to with a negative.
HTF can you assume that anyone born in a different country can consider themselves from that country is one specific load of cock.
I was born in the East and spent 13 "formative" years out there before returning home to England ... note .... I stress the words HOME and England ... and no way at all do I consider myself either Indian or Malay or Singaporean ...
Hope that answers your tosh.

But the whole stupid argument started simply because I stated that there were two former South Africans vying for the keeping position. People are now distorting it somehwat. Obviously if a pommy goes to India with his family for work and his children are born there and would leave all in the children's lives to return to England is a bit different to a KP, a Trott or a Kieswetter or some of the many saffers who ply their trade in Kiwiland in the hope of playing international cricket. Ronchi will be an interesting case in point if he ends up playing for NZ.
And just for the record, most don't count Strauss or Prior among the saffer contingent but it's hard to argue that the aforementioned trio aren't former saffers.

At the end of the day, who cares? Political borders can be so narrow. If they qualify under the laws of that land, they can play for whoever they want. They've still had to work hard to get there. More so, in most cases.

Just read that McCullum will bat at 3 and Rob Nicol should open with Guptill.

Delayed start due to wet outfield. Snoozies win the toss and insert the Yarps. Fat Jack fit to play.

Don't think I can get the radio commentary, but this has to be the worst ivee heard.
If they didn't put the score up I would swear NZ are winning.

The radio commentary isn't geo restricted, it is available here. I don't know if it works on the Ipad though.

Well, I guess any team would happily take the Yarps being 7-191 at Stumps on Day 1, so Taylor looks like he called and elected correctly.

Poor from SA, thought it was a very good toss to win.
SA had nine new players in from their last ODI. Maybe they should have left the seasoned players in.
