Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Pletikosa did some work in the first half, decent double save off Marchisio.
Wonder where the best free kicker in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, would've put that?

There does seem to be a significant amount of f*cking morons amongst Eastern European fans.

They've been well behaved by their usual standards. Partisan vs Red Star is an absolutely mental derby, usually ends in clashes. Yes, it's another country, but they're all pretty much the same around those parts.
At least they haven't gone antisemitic yet. The reports about English hooligans needing to be controlled were just laughable.

Brilliant, they have played far better in the second half.

Yep, that old cliché of football being a game of two halves couldn't be more apt.tricycle wrote:Brilliant, they have played far better in the second half.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Dear oh dear. Looks like it'll be a long night for Ireland - Torres spanked that nicely but, like two of the goals against Croatia, Given should've saved it. He's had a horrible 95 minutes of this tournament.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
It really irritates me that Adrian Chile presents football. What exactly does he know about it? I've never heard him offer anything insightful or constructive. I know most pundits don't have a great deal to say but he comes across as a child who has just discovered football. It's embarassing for ITV, can't believe they haven't (and probably won't) get rid of him.

But then again we are talking about people who hired Andy Townsend and David Pleat...

He's not a pundit though, the presenter's job is to ask questions rather than offer insight himself.vilkrang wrote:It really irritates me that Adrian Chile presents football. Thought his style worked quite well on the more laid back MOTD2 but not so sure about him as a live match anchor.

Totally ripped apart. It was great as an exhibition, as a contest it was shite. Some totally lovely finishes, all four in fact. What a display of excellence.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
A bit like the average Barcelona v Athletico Kebab walkover in La Liga really!
The Irish shown up for what they are, a team of Championship quality players. But wouldn't have expected them to concede 7 in two games even against this sort of quality, they've generally been tough to beat.

Aye, defensively all over the shop - it's been their strength and it's let them down heavily in this tournament. Still, Richard Dunne is literally one of the shittest players I've seen carve out a top flight career, so...
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Ireland are shit, and HTF did Dunne stay in a premier league team or other for so long?
What's happening with Rangers? Read that they may be renamed as Rangers.

Oh, in fact it's worse than 2002. Lovely.
7 out of 15 matches at the Euros where we've taken the lead and not won.
