Hehe, the off-his-face guard was a quaint touch.

Re: The Walking Dead
Not explained, but Wiki says:
- Spoiler:
- Michonne (pronounced "Me-shone"; mɪˈʃɔːn) is introduced as a mysterious woman armed with a katana. She first appears towing two armless, jawless zombies (her boyfriend and his best friend) in shackles...

As skully said, and also - as alluded to in the first season episode where the gang smeared themselves in walker entrails - the undead tend to steer clear of attacking their own.
Michonne seems to use the slaves as a sort of cloaking device to allow her to wander around surrounded by walker stench.
Re: The Walking Dead
Sounds a good plan. Did they find two thalidomide affected actors to play these zombies or are they just wearing body suits to conceal their arms?

Re: The Walking Dead
S03E02 - more grouseness.
- Spoiler:
- Rick and half the team help the prisoners that witnessed him hacking Hershel's leg off secure another cell block, but in the process kill most of them, after the head prisoner tried to kill Rick. Rick dispatched him with a machete to the skull.
Carl does some excellent scouting to gather medical supplies but Lori gets the shits that he went off alone. Suck it up, Lori, he's a little warrior now.
Lori revives Hershel after he expires, and he later regains consciousness. He grips Rick's hand in gratitude for what he did to save him.
Carol practices surgery on a dead female walker in case Hershel can't help in Lori's birth, but someone is watching on.

Happened upon this today. The poster obviously is an i-Gener with a very short attention span. I couldn't agree less with this sentiment.

- D Block looked way nicer than C Block. They should've all moved over there. Mr Moustachio and the breaking-and-entering guy seemed harmless enough. And even if they weren't, they learned the price for being a bit twatty: a machete to the head. They were rehabilitated.
Dunno what happened to the hoard of walkers that seemed to be bashing down the door to the cafeteria at the end of the previous episode. Turned out to be just one riot guard.
Hershel's going to need someone to scavenge an Oscar Pistorious magic leg for him from somewhere, otherwise he'll be more of a liability than Limpy Jackson (or whatever that kid who impaled his leg on a gate last season was called). Still say he'll live just long enough to deliver Lori's baby.
I always worry for T-Dog when he goes on a mission. He gets so few lines, that he's sure to be collateral damage at some point. But he's still standing. Saying nothing. Looking mildly ticked off...

Well, none of it works for last night's episode. So back to the drawing board, internet trolls.

- Spoiler:
- Is there meant to be any parallel between our T-Dog and Tyrese in the books? Wiki tells me that Tyrese gets a head job from Michonne. If T-Dog is Tyrese, then he'll have to hang around until at least that moment!!!!
And I agree with you on Hershel's life-span in the show. He and Carol will deliver Lori's baby then he'll be cut down by the shufflers as the team flees another hoard.

Re: The Walking Dead
I'm not overly familier with the comic books - just picked up the odd detail here and there. I prefer to steer clear incase of spoilers (not that they're strictly similar).
Not sure if T-Dog's in the comic. I know Daryl wasn't - but such was the love for him in the fanboyverse, he's since crossed over from the show into the comic.

Re: The Walking Dead
No, not a TWD comic fan either. Wiki says Tyrese was with Carol, but they are broken up after Michonne's intervention.
At this stage in our version, it's more likely to be the Carol and Daryl Show. Daryl is THE MAN.

Re: The Walking Dead
S03E03 - The Woodbury Episode. Slow but an advancement.
- Spoiler:
- A chopper goes down near where Michonne and Andrea are. They investigate but a mobile crew beats them to the crash site. A number of chopper crew are dead then turn and are dispatched but the pilot is alive and taken away. As Michonne and Andrea look on, Michonne's zombies become restless and are starting to draw attention, so she chops their heads off.
They are detected by...good ol' Merle. They are taken to a small enclave called Woodbury, run by The Governor. It is explained that it is a walled community of 73 folk, who man the gates and kill walkers to keep the settlement safe.
After getting details from the surviving pilot, The Guv take a detail to a miltary outpost, but instead of rescuing the troops, The Guv's boys kill them all and confiscate their hardware. So the Guv is running a survival of the fittest commune. Andrea seems to moving in on the Guv.
Ep ends with the Guv looking at a wall of living heads, including the pilot.
A totally Rick-and-team-free episode.

Re: The Walking Dead
S03E04. Wow, didn't see that coming!!
- Spoiler:
- An unaccounted for person, presumably a prisoner, breaks a lock on a number of internal prison gates, releasing walkers into the previously safe areas. This creates another fight for their lives, and in the process T-dog gets bitten. He and Carol get trapped, and T-Dog grabs two zombies and lets them feast on him as Carol escapes.
Meanwhile, Lori, Carl and Maggie get separated and end up in an engine room, and Lori goes into labour. Maggie has no choice but to deliver the baby but it can't fit Lori's birth canal. Lori demands that Maggie give her an emergency C-section. She dies in the process while the baby is born healthy. Carl man's up and says she'll turn so he has to finish her, and he does.
In another part of the internal prison Rick, Daryl and Oscar are trapped by walkers in the generator room, and as Rick tries to shut the genies down to shut off the sirens, he is attacked by the rouge prisoner. After a wrestling match, big Oscar has a gun trained on both Rick and the prisoner - he shoots the prisoner, to show his loyalty to Rick.
Not much happened in Woodbury, other than the Guv wanting to jump Andrea's bones and Michonne not trusting whitey and wanting to get the hell out of there. There's a bit of a munchy undertone between Michonne and Andrea. Merle is keen to find brother Daryl, and pumps Andrea for info and asks the Guv for permission to scout. Denied.
Ep ends with Carol's whereabouts unknown and Carl and Maggie emerging with the baby, and Rick immediately realising what has happened and collapsing distraught. So we've lost T-Dog and Lori and gained Axel and Oscar.
I thought the baby would die and the Lori-Rick-Carl angst would continue.

Re: The Walking Dead
- Spoiler:
- NO!!!! Not T-Dog!!! He did well to last into the third season, with his one line per episode, I guess. At least he went out mildly heroically - and as a hearty meal for two.
Brutal episode. Shaping up to be the best season so far - all killer, no filler.
Fingers crossed that the show doesn't now become Three Men and a Baby: Zombie Apocalypse now there's a bloody rugrat on the scene.
Re: The Walking Dead
Argh, damnit - they're taking a mid-season break in four episodes' time.
Only a couple of months though: back in February.

Yeah, the Dec-Jan hiatus in the US is pretty standard for the flagship shows.

Re: The Walking Dead
One thing I wasn't quite sure off...
- Spoiler:
- ...why did Lori die so quickly? Sure, Maggie cut her open with a Bowie knife sans-anaethesia, but it was a C-section and shouldn't have cut any major arteries. Maybe she died of excruciating pain. Still would've preferred to have the baby die inside her and turn.

Re: The Walking Dead
- Spoiler:
- Well, it wasn't exactly a traditional C-section, as performed by a skilled surgeon with the appropriate equipment. It was basically a gutting with a hunting knife, performed by a hysterical farmhand. If she didn't bleed out immediately, I imagine the shock would've offed her - and she'd have died of infection anyway.
Incidentally, in the comic (which may hint at future developments, so don't click if you don't want to know)...
- Spoiler:
- Lori dies later on in the prison arc, with the new born in her arms, who is also killed in the "incident". Heavy stuff.
