Mrs K has given in principle agreement for me to take a few weeks of my long service leave to go to a few of the Ashes matches.
Any other Aussies likely to be there? Am thinking Lords and OT at the moment if I can get tickets.
yes - but getting tickets is (literally) a lottery
As an SCG Member I do have some reciprocal rights at Lords and the Oval. I also have a few other contacts. Worst case, I just buy from a scalper or get them through a Merv tour (without actually going on the tour).
Anyway, it's all more real now because we've bought the stupid dog which, as a homage to the deal between me and MrsK, we've called "Ash".
... interesting. I will definitely be around for some of the Tests. I also have some contacts who MAY be able to assist me with tickets outside the lottery system or the ridiculous expense of some bogan tour I don't wish to take. Keep in touch.
How is NFI these days?

You can get ticket and accommodation only packages without the bogan element (other than some functions during the matches). Not cheap mind but at least in between matches you don't feel compelled to travel 6 hours in a bus some somewhere in France that some bogan from Toowoomba also on tour can't pronounce .
Natch the Lords test is already sold out but the 4th and 5th are still available.

So you are booking seats prior to leaving? It's a long way to go to watch the cricket on a London Pub TV.

This is bollocks...
Trent Bridge hosts opening Ashes Test for first time since 1964 - G.Boycott's debut Test, resuming a tradition that goes back to 1899 - W.G.Grace's last Test.

Re: Ashes 2013 fixtures announced
I'm flying back to the UK to watch England smash Australia in the Ashes and wanted to now what the ticket situation was like?
I found a company in Australia which has tickets for the ashes 2013 but have never used a company out here...
Has anyone got a ticket and if so what was the price?

JGK and lardbucket seem to be across this matter, lg (I believe both are heading across for the Ashes). Perhaps they can give some feedback.
