Re: English Domestic Season 2016
Great win from Somerset yesterday. Took 5 wickets in 17 minutes yesterday morning to beat Durham and move up to second.
So who does Jofra Archer qualify for? West Indies or England?

Good question, the fact that he's signed an 18 month contract would suggest that he intends to put down roots over here.

Northants' Richard Gleeson looked good last night. Tall and bowling around 87-88mph. I looked him up and see he's 28 already. Where's he been?
Danny?

Blackpool, in the NPL.... Someone contacted Ripley about him. All we do is scour the NLs and try to get the best of the bunch. Azharullah was similarly picked like that. Same as Jack Brooks. He'll be gone in a year you know this..

you have to wonder at the depth of CC when Klinger and Fatty Cosgrove are making tons and Hogan and MacMuffin are taking bags

Quite a large gap in standards between division 1 and division 2.
James Vince averages 45 in division 2 and 30 in division 1, which might help explain how he's going for England.

It also raises hopes that a certain teenage Lancs opening batsman (who at this stage I refuse to name in order to keep him on track) is the real deal, and might even play test cricket for England in the next 6-12 months.

Interesting that the likes of Moeen and Woakes are in action for their Counties in the Royal London one day cup today.
Surely they deserve/need a rest?

Another title for the mighty Northants. I was actually in the country for this one. Thought we'd fu*ked it at the beginning then after all the hard work it looked like we might fark it at the end but we got home thankfully.

Funny how the two most cash-strapped County teams in England played each other in the T20 final. But I assume that doesn't give them much in the way of a financial windfall.
Quite an effort for Northants to win the thing considering half heir side is either old, overweight, or both. Richard Levi has apparently eaten the entire Northants youth team since I last saw him a couple of years ago.

The players get £200,000 between them, the club get £81,000.
Not much, but it will help enormously.
Not sure it is quite an effort, anymore. They may be half oldverweight, but they're good players. Notts had 9 internationals and we f*cked them in the face. Remember this.
Couldn't be prouder.

Re: English Domestic Season 2016
Cheers gents. It's a shot in the arm, amidst plenty of pain.
I got f*ck-eyed the other week, blagged into this swanky three courser and met most of them - have photos galore. Suffice to say, some were rocking my shit - but most of them were freaked the f*ck out. Lovely bunch though. Genuinely.
Also saw David Capel (who used to coach me) - it took him a couple of minutes, then he was all 'ohhh yeah!'. Asked me if I was still playing, I said no, he said that he hadn't done his job very well - I said he had, but I'm a bit of a pisshead... to which he replied 'Yeah, I can tell'. Devastating. But obvious.

I doubt that Big Time Charlie would have time for us plebs, Lards! He was probably eating caviar a la fois gras. And drinking virgin semen.
Re: English Domestic Season 2016
I notice Steven Crook has had another day out for Northpants, this time adding just on 150 for the 9th wicket with some no-name Chad Barrett.
Crook also looked every inch a class player when dismissing all the Australian bowlers far and wide last year in that county match. What's his story? Did he never even try to make it in Australia?

Think his family moved back here when he was 17/18. At least he and his brother did. He's got a UK passport. He's lost a bit of bustle this year, but his batting is more consistent. Decent cricketer, probably won't realise his potential
Re: English Domestic Season 2016
Jeez, whats happened to Notts? They've really screwed the pooch v Yorks.
Re: English Domestic Season 2016
Aye. Sobers would be spewing.
And I love cricket - another record broken today. The all time Somerset 8th wicket record stand fell to Roelof van der Merwe & Craig Overton. Well done them.

Wash your mouth out.
Sobers remains a titan of the game and is most humble as a person.
Yuvi is a flea of the game and a loud mouthed braggart.

So, someone tell me about Rob Keogh. The Northpants man is going through Glams like dose of epsom salts.
