Notts all over the Yorkies at the moment, with Ball dismissing Lyth, Balance, and Root for next to nowt.

That was a cracking finish to watch. Great game. 15 internationals, apparently. Really good stuff - great advert.

Still waiting nervously for Lancs to implode this season.
Using that word as an amulet.

There been a lot of rain in England or just a preponderance of flat tracks?

Re: English Domestic Season 2016
A bit of both. Effectively abolishing the toss has just made the home teams prepare extremely flat tracks

Bloody hell. Sri Lanka being smashed by Essex, or perhaps Essex seconds (Essex seconds is a difficult concept to grasp). 3 zip series win to England coming up.

Re: English Domestic Season 2016
I think the scrapping of the toss has made the county season a farce so far. Home teams are preparing pancake pitches, and the inevitable early English season rain has meant only four or five results across the board in about 30 games played so far.

Flaming Nora and what the ecky-peck?!?!
Lancs have won again. Innings and 94 over Hants. Two home wins and a good away draw.

Of course ... Lancs have handed back their spearhead to England.
20 wickets might prove difficult from here on.

Keith Barker continuing to show he's probably the most underrated cricketer in England.

Re: English Domestic Season 2016
So Lancs hit some buffers, later than I expected.
Borthwick (batting) and the evergreen Colly built up the score. Not an abject response, but Lancs' tail didn't wag as it generally has to. They should maybe stick Kerrigan up the order more often, though.
Durham look on course to make the visitors an offer (after an hour or so tomorrow) they may find difficult to refuse.

Lancs soundly beaten by a talented-looking young Durham side with an outstanding, adventurous captain.
So it may, after all, be a long summer for the Red Rose county!

What indeed?
I can't think of many supporters who were rejoicing at the thought of him opening this season as his stats last year were decidedly patchy. I think we can thank Kevin Sharp. He came on board as academy director / 2nd Xi coach when Damian fell ill and identified Brett's potential.
The thing is, although he's been around for four years or more, he's not played that many four-day games, so other counties bowling attacks are more than likely bowling at him for the first time, so it will be interesting to see how he goes in the return games.
