Re: T20 World Cup
So SAf beat the Yanks in their 1st Super Eight game. Yanks fell 18 short of the target set by the Yarps (194).
And England powered home v WI, getting the 181 target in 17 and a half overs.

Meanwhile, exemplifying the credibility of the format, Marcus Stoinis has apparently moved to #1.

Re: T20 World Cup
Brilliant knocks from Salt and Bairstow, the latter proving yet again how futile it is to talk about his weight. Many of the best batters have carried a few pounds, especially late in their careers. Runs are what matters and i'd bet good money that most of those doing the abusing are fat bar stewards anyway! Botham was too heavy ideally, during a lot of his career, eg.
Beat USA and we're almost guaranteed to be in the semis. Go boys!

lol, but shocked. Thought #1 would be either Bunter Bairstow or the Thicktoid Ruminant captaining Oz.

Re: T20 World Cup
Aus are 0-64 chasing 141 for victory v Bangers. But the rain has returned to hold them up.
I think D/L only needs 5 overs for a result, so based on that Aus will win if it continues to rain.
And well done to 2nd on his hattrick.

Re: T20 World Cup
Actually, I just googled the DL calculator.
Entering the details i.e. BD make 140 off 20 and Aus have 6.2 overs to get the runs gives a result of BD winning by 7 runs (with Aus on 64 when rains came)!!!
I'm not sure if the system counts only full overs, or includes part overs.
Eek!!
As per the calculator, Aus need 72 off 7, 80 off 8, 85 off 9, 94 off 10 etc, etc.
Anywho, they are back on. Head swatted at one and lost his stumps. Aus 1-66 off 8. Bison starting slowly.

Pissing down again.
Seems I'm not working the DL calculator right.
Dickinfo commentary says par score for Aus is 72, so with Aus at 2-100, they are well in front.

He opted out of the T20 WC squad to concentrate on getting fully fit after his knee surgery, leading into England's future Test program.

Re: T20 World Cup
Apparently* Koo now holds the record for the most World Cup wickets.
He took one in his 1st over in Aus's win v Bangers to go to 30 T20 WC wkts, to go with his 65 ODI WC wkts to surpass Lasith Malinga's 94 wkts.
Well done him.

Yanks rolled for 128. SA getting good impetus at the top from de Kock. Poms and Saffers still favoured from this group to go through to the semis.

Windies smashing the yanks means that with England playing the USA and likely to improve their NRR, SA could be the most vulnerable given that they performed poor;y against the Americans.
