Re: Another great innovation from the IPL
do-boy, one of the 'appealing' items of t20 is the 'non-stop action and excitement', the fast pace of the game.
How does stopping the innings for a period of time long enough to get through a good two overs, for the sake of money, do anything to add to the game?
Or how does it uphold the original reason for t20's existence, in making the game non-stop action and excitement?
Nice to see you have shown your true colours.

Re: Another great innovation from the IPL
How does it add to the game? It doesn't and no one has argued otherwise. It makes up for the loss in revenue.
Sure it's an annoyance, it's a hindrance, but it's probably a necessity. And I don't think an extra 15 minutes is that big a deal TBH.

Re: Another great innovation from the IPL
what happens if the rain leads them to not bowling enough overs for an official game, but the tactical timeout is still enforced? It is ridiculous, Do-ey, and any defense of it is equally ridiculous . . .

If they're enforcing it even in a rain-curtailed game, then yes it is ridiculous and I am in no way defending that.

Wouldn't "common sense" tell you that you could play the ads and announcements that are in the "tactical time out" during the time lost to the rain delay when viewers are hanging about watching "Classic IPL" waiting for the play to start?

doremi wrote:Why would cutting considerable losses by elongating a match by only 15 minutes diminish anyone's integrity?
And is this the "I'll be especially stupid" day in Australia? All of you are posting some absolute brain-dead rubbish TBH.
Note to skully : Supporting the IPL does not mean someone does not enjoy tests. Neither have I seen any evidence of any sort from the 1 year it has been since it started that it has had any kind of adverse effect on tests. Try and ****** read and understand what the forummers here are saying and then get off on one of your slightly crazy "I hate Lalit Modi" rants. Nobody likes Lalit Modi, but however some of us tend to not share the rabid hatred against the IPL. It's a short, enjoyable, high quality T20 tournament. No one likes the 15 minute break every match, but it's understandable.
taips : You're sounding like merlo. You were wrong, admit it.
Skully's lost it a bit these days. All he has got these days is senseless baits to offer.

Is that an Aussie I hear knocking on my door trying to get a bait in?
Is that futility accompanying him?

There is still the question of having some sense in the first place, to waste any, IF needed.
That said the silent assasin has been playing the role of a master silent baiter smartly enough. TBH, perhaps he is the only Ozzie that has an iota of sense, wasted though it may be.
