Here's one.
Just for Gloopy.
Great day.
Me and my Forest supporter mate ended up wrestling in the flowerbeds in Old Market Square when my smugness finally got the better of me after too many beers, and he totally flipped!

And, more importantly, who has the most scabs?
Yawnsville.
Yes, 'cos we're all farkin' miners after all, and every Notts resident is singularly responsible for the actions of the UDM 25 years ago.

Says the man reminiscing about incidents that occured at football matches just after the war.
I take it it's pretty even then?

Re: Your favourite sporting pictures...
Really?
1994 - just after the war.
War to now . . . 63 years.
1994 to now . . . 14 years.
War to 1994 . . . 49 years.
Yup, just after the war...ah, perhaps you're referring to the first Gulf War, I'd give you that, but is that really 'the' war?
This is before we even get into the realms of the fact that I've never been a miner, have never had anything to do with mining or the UDM, neither have the vast majority of people in Nottinghamshire, and Gus wasn't even born.
Apart from that...good call.

Shit - I spent about half an hour yesterday looking for that photo. I seem to recall it being more of a close up.
It's a great photo - beautifully captures the agony of being a sports fan.

Re: Your favourite sporting pictures...
Just like me the next day. Went to bed feeling pretty smug after Punter's onslaught (it was a work day the next day) and just like Headingly 81, I just could not believe the result. I've only had a handful of those sick-in-the-stomach-when-you-hear-the-news feelings when it comes to the great game, but this was one of them.taipan wrote:Actually both my sons were at the game.
