Re: Rugby League 2022
Bruising encounter tonight.
Penrith and Parra were very even after the 1st Half, with the Mountain Men taking a 7-6 lead to the sheds.
Cleary was tormenting Waqa Blake with his towering, drifting bombs. One lead to Penrith's 1st try (in 1st Half) and then lead it's 2nd try after Blake had no idea again.
Still, at 13-8 it was game on, but the Mitchell Moses got his head in the wrong position against Kikou and had the wobbly boot on. He played no further part and the Slimeys missed him, his organisation and kicking game.
Penrith ran away with it after that, on the back of Cleary and Dylan Edwards class.
27-8 in the end. Penrith now get a week off.

Re: Rugby League 2022
Cracking game at Shark Park last night.
Sharkies seemed to be home at 30-22 with under 10 to play.
But the Cows got a penalty after Connor Tracey allegedly tackled Val Holmes without the ball as he chased an attacking grubber on the Cronulla line. 30-24 with 5 to play.
Then the Cows raided the Shark line successfully with basically the last play of the 80 mins, sending Taumalolo over. 30-30 at Full time.
10 minutes extra time saw no golden point, then in the 3rd minute of the next lot of extra time, Val homes slotted a 40+ m field goal to secure the week off. 32-30 Cows.
So Parra play Canberra next week, and the Sharks play the winner of R00ters v Bunnies in today's eliminator.

Re: Rugby League 2022
How good was it seeing that grub Munster stuff up twice v Raiders last night.
Once when he failed to ground the ball that led to a Canberra try & the other when he got palmed off for that cracking Raiders try in the right corner.

Penrith are still the favourites, right?

Re: Rugby League 2022
Brutal eliminator between the R00ters & Bunnies, with the latter prevailing 30-14.
So savage was the match that it broke the NRL record for number of sin bins. There were 7.
One of the sin bins was for a Tom Burgess high hit on James Tedesco, which concussed him out of the game.
That was the turning point. Easts just didn't have the go forward without Teddy.
Souths now play Cronulla for a chance to play Penrith.

Was at that Bunnies game yesterday. Â
Not a lot of skill but brutal stuff - as a neutral I was pissing myself laughing at every sin bin. Â Even saw myself on TV when I watched the replay.
PS: the new ground is very underwhelming by the way.

Re: Rugby League 2022
Souths too good for a very disappointing Sharks outfit last night.
The Cronulla boys saved their worst defensive game of the season for the game last night.
A shame for them to go out in straight sets after such a good season.
Souths now face Penrith, and Cows play Parra to decide the make up of the GF.

Re: Rugby League 2022
First of the GF qualifiers (called a Preliminary Final) is tonight in Townsville.
I think Eels hearts might be broken again. A rested Cows side on their home ground will be very hard to beat.
Similarly, a pretty batted Souths might find it tough v a full strength rested Panthers outfit on Saturday night.

The Slime get up 24-20 despite being pretty poor for 50 mins.
A magic pass by Gump Lane on the blind side set it up.

Re: Rugby League 2022
The Cows easily won all the stats last night, except the one that mattered.
A testament to the Eels' last ditch defence.
That said, the Cows were literally an inch from victory as Kyle Feldt just touched the sideline with his boot as he dived into the corner late in the game.
Funny game. Cows were outplayed for most of the game v Sharks but got up at the death. It was a similar story last night. Cows had the better of play but Parra did enough to secure the win.
Gump Lane's pass to Sivo for the winning try was something to behold.

Re: Rugby League 2022
Wow, what a half of footy Penrith v Bunnies.
Souths played nearly the perfect half for 36 minutes and lead 12-0. Penrith had a number of tries correctly disallowed in that time.
As things looked grim for the Mountain Men approaching half time, Api Koroisau capitalised on a lightning play the ball by Kikou to scoot through a hole and slide over for a much needed Panthers try. 12-6 Souths.
In the final minute of the half Souths attempted a raid down the right side near the Penrith quarter but Campbell Graham knocked the ball on into the arms of Brian To'o who sped downfield. Cody Walker loomed up in cover defence but To'o just bumped him off to score near the posts. Penrith fans lifted the roof.
12-12 at Oranges. Will that break Souths hearts??.

Yup, it broke Souths' heart.
All Penrith in the 2nd half. 32-12 in the end.
So it's Parra v Penrith in the GF next Sunday.
