Re: AFL 2022
Apparently* the AFL is close to approving a Tasmanian side, with the Tas Goct to build a new stadium at Macquarie Point in Hobart.
Any name suggestions (the Tigers is taken)?
The Tassie Devils??

Re: AFL 2022
They could figure Devils is too close to Demons and Mariners too close to Dockers, so they could be stuck with embee's suggestion.
Much more important issue: Sidneyland are in another GF and where the hell is Horrie?

Re: AFL 2022
There are enough reasons not to barrack for either team, mainly because both have a few players who are hard to like. The Cats have Hawkins, Dangerfield (vomit) and Duckwood. The Swans have Buddy and the flopper flog Papley. What an invidious decision one has to make.

I hope it's a good game for neutrals. Cats favourites, hope Swans win though.

Re: AFL 2022
Swans flogged the Cats in their only home and away match up but it was an early season game so not really a gauge.

Yes, the Bloods Culture nowhere to be seen. Shocking match for neutrals. Karma Bus hit Papley after his Insta post.

Yes, just like the GWS one. AFL loves having Sydney teams in but these last two have offered nothing. The myth of the Bloods culture exploded today.

Yeah, one sided affairs are awful for neutrals let alone losing team supporters.

Re: AFL 2022
Cheers Red. A most unenjoyable arvo.
The nearest the Bloods got to the Cats was the opening 0-0 scoreline.
Rarely has a team been so outplayed as the Sydney side was. Never.in.it.
Congrats to the Cats on a very dominant win.

Re: AFL 2022
Well, that was unexpected. Especially pleased for Dangerfield (first Premiership EVER, having never won one even as a junior; Scott, who has been rubbished for years by opposition and even some Cats fans as a once-only Premiership coach who only won on the back of coaching by his predecessor; and Selwood, one of toughest and most selfless players I’ve ever seen. Rampe’s post-game speech was generous, and I particularly liked Scott’s acknowledgment of the assistant coaches now departed who had made such a massive contribution to the Geelong game plan - Scarlett, Enright, Knights, and others.
I was not confident of the win until the game was deep in the third quarter. Still can’t believe the result let alone the margin.

it was well and truly done after the opening goals in the 3rd qtr, if it wasn't already done long before that.

Re: AFL 2022
A couple of random observations from yesterday's debacle:
*Tyson Stengel can thank his luckies that Joel S was captain and not Michael Clarke. Otherwise by the time he did his test the other 22 would have been in the bus somewhere near Little River and he would have had to thumb a ride home.
*Congrats to Zac Tuohy on becoming the second Irishman to play in a premiership team (or, if we apply the Slater-BJ rule, the third)
*Isaac is not just the first Smith to win the namesake Medal - along with Nick of Sydney, in his first GF in 2012 he was only the second (and the first for 32 years) to play for it (He could also be the first winner to retire without playing another game).
Well done Cats - Swans will come again. So will Brisbane - it's uncanny how a PF walloping for a team that's been contending for a few years can suddenly accelerate the process (eg North 1995, Collingwood 2009, Geelong last season). 2023 already looks very promising!

Always easier in hindsight than with foresight tainted by previous experience ...
I've seen us surrender leads of 40 in the last quarter before ... so I wasn't confident at all until the third quarter goals had piled up. You've been spoiled as a Hawks supporter, and often at our expense.

Oh and BTW: Well done Jeremy Cameron on your first flag. Win a couple more, and dominate one, and you MIGHT reach a spot on the totem pole where you can claim the title'Jezza'
