Re: AFL 2022
Some season—defining games this weekend, round 13 not easy to tip ...
Richmond to defeat Port at their MCG fortress, surely, to remain in the 8 and push Port towards 2022 oblivion. Though Port’s form has been good. 60-40 odds.
Carlton to defeat Essendon ... decent team v abject pebbledash, not a problem. 100% confident. Ten goal margin likely.
Fremantle to defeat the Hawks at home ... 80-20, should be a cakewalk for the well coached Dockers in front of their home crowd, Hawks patchy this season though they have beaten the Lions (at home, helped over the line by the umpires) and the Cats (who were dreadful on the day). Should be Freo but you never know with the Hawks, whose season is gone if they lose this one.
Lions to defeat the Saints - 50/50, two top teams, Lions have the home advantage, but this could go either way, or be tied. Paddy Ryder may decide the match.
Giants to defeat North - irrelevant match in terms of finals, two poor teams, one merely a standard case of gastro, the other is cholera. 90-10 favouritism for the Giants.
Melbourne to defeat Collingwood Should be an easy pick but Melbourne are faltering and the hated Scum is rising. A very popular Demons win would make Collingwood’s tilt for a finals campaign that much more difficult. 70-30 odds. Go the Demons, a 1 point Demons win resulting from an after-siren 60 m goal resulting from an unjustified 50 metre penalty would be a great way to finish the weekend.
margin - 63 points

They have expanded AFLW too quickly, the standard will be even worse next season.

Re: AFL 2022
Another massive round. Probably only one team already guaranteed of a finals spot, with two of the next 8 teams due to miss out, could be any two, depending on late season form.

Cats and Sydney looking a bit more secure midway through this round, but still no teams guaranteed a finals spot, even Melbourne could miss out in theory, having lost to the Cats.

still feels like the 8 is settled though, unless the Saints sneak in.

Re: AFL 2022
Saints might be done. Port, Suns still daring to dream. Shame North couldn't have hung on for 5 more minutes to defeat the despised Scum.

I wanted Norf slaughtered. They have no case to remain stinkking up the Comp, Too many Melbourne teams. Time to cull ahead of Tassy coming in.

Re: AFL 2022
That's OK, but Tassie doesn't want a North 'merger'. Add Tassie, add another non-Vic team (Riverina?) and each team plays each other just once in the home and away season.

And Noble is Melb#11....straight after their best effort for ages. John N got to play in his Dad's last game. Co-incidence? Not specially likely....

Re: AFL 2022
In line with the wild speculation in my last post, the SCB could well have been last week. Like happened with Buckley/Harvey last year.
In any case I'm pretty sure the maths will show the SCB is nowhere near the certainty it was in the dreaded Unleash The Geish era - when the Big A was always deliberately delivered just before the next half-winnable game, to settle the new bloke in and make the decision look good, very much in ascending order.
